Pizza Pasta Cake (as my husband calls it)

Salam to all,

Can you smell the melted cheese???? :D

Ever since I've seen my dear friend at Muslim Wife's Kitchen posted a guest post on Sisterswhoblog.com I've been obsessed with this dish.. It reminds me so much of my favortite pizza i always order from dominos.. black olives with extra cheese.. So i knew i had to make it!

Her recipe link is here : Pasta Pie by Muslim Wife

Muslim Wife's Kitchen Pasta Pie

and here are the step by step of how I did it..

 Ingredients:

1 lb ground turkey (can use any kind of ground meat)
1 lb box of wheat elbow pasta
1.5 (28 oz) jars of pasta sauce, no sugar added
1 packed cup baby spinach leaves, fresh
1.5-2 cups mozarella cheese, shredded
1 15 oz jar ricotta cheese
2 eggs
1 onion, chopped
half a bell pepper, thinly sliced
small can of sliced mushrooms
sliced black olives
10" springform pan
salt and pepper to taste
italian seasoning or oregano
onion powder
garlic powder
mixed spice

First, brown the onions, then ground turkey til done.. add salt, pepper to taste, 1/4 tsp mixed spice, 1/4 onion powder, 1/4 tsp garlic powder... and set aside..

Boil the pasta til al dente, drain, then add the sauce and mix..
In seperate bowl...... Mix the Ricotta cheese, eggs, 1/2 tsp salt, blk pepper, and sprinkle oregano/italian seasoning and mix well.. (i added a handful of chopped spinach to the cheese mix)

In the pan start fixing layers.. first half of the pasta mix
 Then the ground meat mix
 then the ricotta mix
Then just lay a bunch of spinach leaves all over... and add any other veggies u like as well..
Cover with the last half of the pasta..
Then sprinkle the mozarella on top, (my husband like his cheese light, so i split the pan into light cheese and heavy cheese, YUM)

Now, this is ur blank pizza canvas, add on as many toppings as you wish.... I added black olives, mushrooms and a lonely orange bell pepper that was in my fridge..

Grease the foil, cover the pan, and pop into oven at 350 for 30 mins..

The cheese will be all melted but not browned.. Once ur ready to eat, brown it under the broiler for few minutes..

YUMMM bubbly browned cheese...

Take of the spring pan sides.. and plate onto your serving platter,...
ANd admire ur work.. maybe text pics to ur friends like i did, doesnt hurt lol...
 Serve with salad and enjoy!!

First thing my husband said when he saw it : "Did u make cake for dinner?"
2nd thing he said: "That's really clever, u should make this when we have guests over"
3rd thing: "I like your pizza pasta cake"

Thanks so much Muslim Wife, love u much!!
