My husband made a new years resolution that he will lose all his midsection fat by september (when he joins the police academy training)... So he's been back to the gym for a few months but still hasnt noticed any weight loss.
I can say that I found out about Atkins by coincidence, (Barnes and Noble had it on clearance for 2.54 with free shipping, and i saw "LOSE WEIGHT" on the book so i got it).. As i read more and more into the book, I knew i found my husbands solution.. I wrote up a summary of the program on my facebook page Em Malik's Kitchen..
Basically it is a Low carb diet which encourages the body to burn its own fat instead of burning energy from the carbs and sugars consumed.. That's exactly what he needs! It is also a high protein high fiber diet, and being as muscular as he is, it was the perfect way to fill him up and help lose weight without all the starvations that most diets lead to.. So we started the program and he's been doing pretty good so far Alhamdulilah..
The only problem he has with it, is that he can't have regular sugar anymore, and he hates all kinds of "zero calorie" sugars, whether natural or artificial.. But he'll get used to it.
